Lunar year of the Dragon! On January 23rd 2012, the legendary Dragon Year of the Chinese and Vietnamese zodiac will soar forth bringing us all new beginnings and good fortune! The dragon is the 5th animal in the zodiac cycle. The Dragon’s influence will shower the blessings of dynamic opportunity in all spheres of life. While celebrated for its power and wealth, the Dragon is also the vigilant guardian protecting all that we hold dear. The Dragon Year magnifies and amplifies all things- both good and bad. So, it is cautioned in this Dragon Year to plan well and wisely.

According to the plan, on 10 January 2012, Canada Post will be issued stamps to celebrate the new year of Dragon 2012, have two editions including for international and for domestic, designed by Louis Fishauf.

Also, a new souvenir sheet of two stamps will be issued. The sheet will contain one of the new $1.8 stamps and a $1.75 Year of the Rabbit stamp using the design from 2011. Canada Post noted that the idea for the new souvenir sheet came from Hong Kong Post, the souvenir sheet is being called a ”transitional collectible”.
